Sunderland Echo Quiz League.
Congratulations to Newbottle WMC, who clinched their first ever league title win with a last match derby win over The Stables. In an exciting finale to the season, they could have been overtaken by closest rivals Ashrooke, on points difference, if they had lost. However their win, and defeat for Ashbrooke, who stumbled against Hastings Hill, meant that the title was won by a comfortable margin. Ashbrooke’s loss, coupled with a win by Museum Vaults (over Kings Arms) meant that the Vaults ‘vaulted’ into the runners up spot. Hastings Hills victory consigned Kings Arms to the wooden spoon on points difference.
