Quiz held to raise funds for Sarah Taylors trip to Africa (added 6/12/09).

Many of you recently entered a quiz, set by Tony Gold, to help raise funds to enable Sarah Taylor to visit South Africa to work in an orphanage.

Sarah explains "About 16 Project Trust volunteers go to South Africa for the year, but there are a lot of different projects and usually only 2 volunteers go to each project.

While volunteering in the orphanage I will be working with impoverished children, many of whom have been affected by HIV/AIDS in some way. I also hope to help the local community in any way possible by setting up my own project while in South Africa. I am thinking of setting up a class to teach adults and teenagers about the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS.

I have so far raised £1176 of my £4,850 target, but have till June next year to raise the rest and have a number of other events planned.

The winner of the quiz was Brian Taylor, he correctly answered all the questions and was only 1 out on the tie break question. 5 people answered all the questions correctly, and the hardest question seemed to be question 20, which many people thought was the Toy Dolls.

If you could just write how grateful I am to everyone who entered the quiz as well - I raised about £100".
